This 8 session workshop is a collaboration between dance artist and teacher K.J. Holmes and neuroscientist and dance researcher Hossein Aleyasin.
Each session will focus on and utilize as a source for dance a specific dhatu, or element/tissue of the body, through experiential study and practice of anatomy, eastern and western theories, and movement principles.
What to Expect:
The workshop will be both laboratory and creative studio. We will explore the diverse material through lecture, slides, sounding, movement, writing and drawing, and embodying transitions as blueprints for improvising and composing dance.
Students must take the full workshop as the material will develop each week.
Open to all levels of experience.
